Requirements
Apart from the documentation collection process, you will also need to obtain a
- C1D Visa (this is also known as a Seamen’s / Transit visa). This visa allows you to work on a ship off the American Coast.
- Shengen Visa. For those working on a ship with a European run.
- Medical. You need to show that you are fit to work on a ship, and have no previous medical conditions that preclude you for work on a ship (such as Insulin Dependent Diabetes or Hepatitis B carrier status).
- Police Clearance. To show proof that you were / are not involved in any criminal activities.
- Proof of being duly registered as a medical doctor / registered nurse. You will also need to show that you are in good stead with your licensing body.
We will tell you exactly what documents we need from you, including references. We will also guide you through the visa and medical process. This is all in all a straightforward process, and can be accomplished in a relatively short amount of time. But first we need to clear your CV with the ship companies, and then we get the ball rolling from there.
